It makes sense but I disagree. My argument is that you and Jared are abstracting the idea of design too far. You’re turning it into some metaphysical idea that no longer has a practical meaning. The situation in which you describe about choosing a public transportation over a car is in a literal sense making a political choice based on things you believe. Your definition of the word is so broad that it is now extending into choices we make on a day to day basis. Words have meaning. Design has a specific meaning and it has specific processes especially as it relates to software.
